Determine WHO your market is
who is most likely to want to buy from you, or hire you? (Target Market) Find them and you’ve found your target market.

WHERE they can be found (Demographic)
This can be a specific country, state, province, city. It could a certain place eg: fast food restaurants, aquatic centres, business schools.

WHAT are they currently buying (Trending)
Research what products and/or services your target market is currently interested in.

WHY are they buying and . . .

WHEN do they buy (time of year/season/month)
Creating a graph of the functional relation between two or three variables will give you a ‘picture’ that you can use to effectively market your products at the right time for the right reasons.

Based on the answers and information you compile from these 5 “W” questions, you will be able to create a strategy that will be more effective at marketing your products and services.
