Board of Directors

We're pleased to introduce you to the Board of Directors of Women's Enterprise Centre.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of women from various regions of the province. All of them have operated their own business - and devote a minimum of three hours per month to ensuring the organization is achieving its mandate.

Joyce Groote, Chair, Vancouver - Holeys Canada Inc.
Denise Pallesen, Vice Chair, Cranbrook - Nutters Bulk & Natural Foods
Judy Thomson, Secretary/Treasurer, Vancouver - Shepa Learning Company
Betty Barton, Terrace - Barton Construction
Sue Adams, Whistler -  Pemberton Valley Supermarket
Jill Earthy, Vancouver
Tammy Moore, Past Chair, Vancouver

Directors are required to own or have owned their own business, or have attained a senior position of leadership in a business or related organization; they are passionately interested and involved in the advancement of women entrepreneurs and women business owners in BC, and they must have demonstrated strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills in business and/or community service. They must wish to develop the vision and take responsibility to lead Women’s Enterprise Centre.  It is required that four of the seven Board members must own or have owned their own business. A varied geographical and urban/rural representation of BC is strongly desirable but not necessary.

Women’s Enterprise Centre Board has a nominating committee which works with community organizations to recruit new members as needed. To learn more about the Women's Enterprise Centre Board, please click here.
