Season's Greetings from all of us at
Women's Enterprise Centre!

As we wind down another year, we'd like to congratulate all women entrepreneurs in BC for their tenacity and hard work during this last year, in the face of economic challenges.  We’d like to wish you all many future successes!  We were fortunate to have met many of you through 62 workshops we delivered in 21 different communities in BC this year, which we worked on with 129 different community partners.

As we reflect on the past year, the team at Women’s Enterprise Centre is proud to have responded to over 4,000 inquiries for business information, held over 3,600 business advisory appointments, and the approximately $1 million in loans which we provided were able to leverage almost $4 million more,  which generated $150 million in economic activity in the province.

We wish you and your families all the best for the holiday season.

Luba Sasowski - WAX Hair Removal Bar

People in the Lower Mainland are heading to the hottest bar in Vancouver, but this time it’s not to get a drink, it’s to get waxed! WAX Hair Removal Bar, opened in Kitsilano last February by entrepreneur Luba Sasowski, is the place to go to get brows, backs, bikini lines and even derrières waxed clean.

“We specialize in waxing to the highest professional level, with our true specialty being the more risqué, yet very alluring Brazilian or Boyzilian wax,” says Sasowski. “Our goal is to keep things light and fun. People grow hair in all different areas - our job is to get rid of the hair professionally without making anyone feel embarrassed or awkward.”
