September Business Tip
How's Your Credit Rating?
When creating your business plan it's a good idea to find out how your credit rating is ranking. This report will provide you with details on credit cards and loans opened in your
name, companies accessing your credit file, delinquent payments and more. You can ask for a free copy once per year or purchase a more in-depth report.
There are two main credit bureaus in Canada: Equifax Canada and TransUnion of Canada. Complete details on how to order credit reports are available on their websites. The reports are sent to you within two to three weeks or immediately if you do it online.
All the details of your recent financial history are added together to give you a credit score. Lenders and other service providers use your credit history to make decisions about whether to extend you new credit.
