Christine is Vice President of Community Business Banking for Vancity, leading the team providing finance for small and medium sized enterprises through business lending, micro finance, growth capital and cash management services.
With a strong entrepreneurial background and an undergraduate degree in sociology, Christine completed her MBA in Strategic Management and International Business at Sauder in 2002. Upon completion of her MBA, Christine wasted no time in helping to found Chrysalix Energy, one of the first venture capital firms focused on cleantech venture investing.
Christine left Chrysalix in 2008 to begin Shoreline West Asset Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund she co-founded, furthering her expertise in sustainability funding.
Christine made the move to Vancity in 2011, to focus on investing in organizations that impact the community, whether through environmental sustainability, social justice or community well-being. While some may argue that a tradeoff exists between traditional profitability and social impact, Christine works to identify companies that operate responsibly while continuing to maximize value for all of their stakeholders.
Christine was recognized on Business in Vancouver’s 2007 Top 40 Under 40 list and in 2012 was awarded the Rising Star award by the Association of Women in Finance. She is a Lecturer on Finance & Impact Investing at the University of Victoria and an Advisor for Brighter Investment. She is an Investment Committee member for the UBC Impact Fund and a Director of Small Business BC.
