2009 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Stephanie Shum of Vancouver, the 2009 winner of the Kathy Barnett Memorial Scholarship.
With the help of this scholarship, Stephanie will be pursuing a degree in commerce at the UBC Sauder School of Business this fall. After completing her degree she plans to enter into an MBA program and start her own business with the experience and knowledge she’ll gain from her education. She has already started on the path to self-employment as the Vice President of Human Resources for the Junior Achievement sponsored company HumaniTee, a company established and run by the students of the 2009 Junior Achievement Company Program.
For Stephanie, entrepreneurship is not just about making profits, but also about giving back to her community and inspiring other young women to also go forward with their dreams of starting a business.
Women’s Enterprise Centre and Junior Achievement wish you the best, Stephanie!
