Women Entrepreneurship Fund

The Government of Canada has launched a new $20 million fund for women entrepreneurs!

The Women Entrepreneurship Fund provides up to $100,000 to women-owned businesses in non-repayable contribution funding for a 12-month project – you could be one of those businesses!

The investment must be used to:

  • explore new markets abroad;
  • support your growth and expansion; and/or
  • pursue additional activities that support the objectives of the fund.

So if you’ve been thinking about growing your business, this is an excellent time to take that leap!

Eligible project costs include costs of labour, capital or operating costs, pre-production, IP, commercialization and more. View eligible costs >>

Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements, including:

  • Be women-owned or women-led businesses
  • Be operating for at least two years
  • Share 10-20% of the total eligible project costs

Priority will be given to:

  • Diverse women entrepreneurs (e.g. Indigenous women, immigrants, visible minorities and those in rural or remote areas)
  • Businesses related to priority industries, including: advanced manufacturing, agri-food, health/bio-sciences, clean technology, digital industries or resources of the future
  • Projects to pursue markets abroad

Meeting the Business Advisory Requirement

To be considered for funding, applicants must apply a portion of the funding to access advisory services to support their growth.

As a client of Women’s Enterprise Centre, you can include our services in your application and, if successful, you’ll have the costs covered by the fund!

Advisory expenses may include our mentoring program, our business/growth plan review service and our workshops.

*Note: If your application is successful, you will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred before you sign the agreement

Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to get financial support for your business!
