Building a Resilient and Thriving Organizational Culture
June 25, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
COVID-19 has introduced a new level of stress to all organizations, with so many of us adjusting to a new way of living and working. Many people, while feeling stressed and struggling to find a new work/life balance, will resort to common, but unsustainable, coping practices such as working harder and longer. Some react to stress and pressures through avoidance, anger, or escape. Now more than ever we need to develop our ability to thrive, not just survive, amidst these stressful conditions.
If we are to emerge to a new normal with collective insights and better ways of being, we need to work together to create resilient and thriving organizational cultures. On June 25th, join professors Dr. Jennifer Walinga from the School of Communication and Culture and Dr. Wendy Rowe from the School of Leadership Studies, for an engaging webinar to discuss ways you can promote wellness within your organization and your life.
During this interactive session you will:
- Learn the theories and principles of thriving and resilience
- Design and build concrete processes, practices, and mechanisms to support thriving in your team or organization
- Explore transforming stressful factors and situations into growth and learning opportunities
- Apply the concept of ‘active recovery’ to all aspects of your professional and personal life
