Caroline Lewko, Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP), Vancouver
Caroline Lewko is the CEO of Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP). Known as the ‘connector’, Caroline has been engaged with emerging technologies for over 20 years, as a coder, funder, community builder and entrepreneur.
Recognizing the importance of mobile developers in the ecosystem, she started WIP in 2006 to build and grow developer communities thru Agency and Community activities and events. WIP was the first Developer Relations agency and works for clients around the world including AT&T, Facebook, GSMA, Immersion, Intel, Orange, Microsoft, NBCUniversal, Nokia, PayPal, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony, Zebra and many others.
Caroline founded the Wireless Innovation Network of BC (WINBC now DIGIBC) in 2001, one of the world’s first regional mobile associations, and spearheaded the development and fundraising of Wavefront, a wireless accelerator, and is Past Chair of both organizations.
At IRAP (CIMI) she advised hundreds of companies starting businesses in software, telecommunications and new media. She got her start in mobile in the Telecommunications Industry Group of Anderson Consulting (Accenture). Caroline also worked for a Hong Kong consultancy marketing an industrial park in China in the late 90s.
She received her MBA from Dalhousie University and BA from the University of Manitoba. Caroline was named by Fierce Wireless as one of the Top Ten Women in Wireless for 2009. She is a Member of the ICT Advisory Board for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Development Canada (DFATD) and Judge for the last several years for GSMA Mobile Awards, and BCTECH’s TIAS and speaks at many events.
