Cecilia Mkondiwa, Chief Operating Officer
Cecilia Mkondiwa, MBA is the Chief Operating Officer for Women’s Enterprise Centre (WEC), based in its Vancouver office. WEC is a non-profit organization devoted to helping BC women launch, lead and scale their own businesses. WEC provides business loans, skills training, mentoring, advice and resources to women business owners across the province from its three offices in Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria.
Cecilia’s business expertise and extensive development lending background has enabled many women business owners to realize their entrepreneurial dreams.
Cecilia is a champion for women’s economic empowerment, both in her business and personal life. Her passion to assist women to their business success started in Malawi, where she worked for an NGO micro credit organization, prior to moving to Canada over 20 years ago.
After completing her MBA at Simon Fraser University, Cecilia joined Women’s Enterprise Centre in 1998 as a Business Advisor. She was excited to continue working with women entrepreneurs.
In her current role with WEC, she leads a team of knowledgeable business advisors and loan administration staff, oversees the loan portfolio, and directs the certifications for WEConnect Canada. Her team supports women entrepreneurs in BC with business loans, advisory services, skills training, mentoring and other important services.
